McCrate Breaks Two School Records
Sophomore Shamrock swimmer Liv McCrate broke two school swim records this past week.
On Wednesday at Brooke High School, she broke her own record for the 100 Breaststroke with a 1:11.29. Her previous record was 1:11.33.
On Saturday during the Red Devil Invitational at Wheeling University, McCrate broke the school record for the 500 Freestyle a time of 5:54.37. The record was previously held by Danielle Holskey Anderson with a time of 6:00.36 achieved during 2003-2004 school year.
The Wednesday match at Wellsburg featured Morgantown, Brooke, Barnesville and Union Local.
Combined Score: 1. Morgantown -103, 2. Brooke – 45, 3. Barnesville – 38
Girls: 1. Morgantown- 45, 2. Brooke -33, Barnesville – 16
Boys: 1. Morgantown- 58, 2. Barnesville – 22, 3. Brooke – 12
Saturday at Wheeling, Barnesville came in 6th out of 19 teams. 1. John Marshall – 103, 2. Beaver Local – 79, 3. Vincent Warren – 69, 4. Steubenville – 42, 5. East Liverpool – 37, 6. Barnesville – 33.
