Lester Lee Howell

Lester Lee Howell, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Arbors of Woodsfield, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 16, 1940, in Beallsville, the son of the late John and Bertha (Hoskinson) Howell.

Lester was retired from the former ORMET Aluminum Corporation, near Hannibal, Ohio. He loved being in the great outdoors, especially mowing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Miller, three brothers, Jim, Fred, and Darrel Howell.

Surviving are a faithful wife of 64 years, Bernice(Baker) Howell, a son, Gregory (Pat) Howell of Reston, VA, daughters, Debbra (Bob) Bassa, of St. Clairsville, and Theresa (Ben) McCort of Newcomerstown, grandchildren, Logan and Austin Bassa, Hayley, Alaina, and Rylee McCort, his brother, Larry (Diane) Howell of Shadyside as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Honoring Lester’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chaple, 52728 Ohio Ave, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
