America 250–Ohio Kickoff at the Ohio Statehouse
PRESS RELEASE
Revolutionary War Graves Project Announced
COLUMBUS – Partners from across Ohio gathered at the Ohio Statehouse this week to officially kick off America 250-Ohio, launching preparations for the 250th anniversary of American independence in 2026.
One way Ohioans can get involved now is through the Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project, a statewide initiative led by America 250–Ohio and the Ohio History Connection, in collaboration with Ohio’s State Historic Preservation Office, Terracon Consultants, Inc., and local chapters of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution. The project aims to identify, document, and map the final resting places of an estimated 7,000 Revolutionary War patriots buried across Ohio.

Volunteers are needed! Community members can help research, document, and honor these patriots while connecting with Ohio’s early history in a meaningful way.
To learn more and find out how to volunteer check the Ohio History Connection website.
