Belmont County Tax Bills Mailed

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Treasurer Katherine J. Kelich announced Wednesday that the first-half of 2025 real estate tax and 2026 manufactured home tax bills have been mailed. Property owners who do not receive their first-half bills by Feb. 7 should contact the Treasurer’s office at 740-699-2145.
The due date for payment is Friday, Feb. 20. A postmark of Feb. 20 is accepted as a timely payment. Under current USPS policy, postmarks are applied at processing centers, so taxpayers mailing close to the due date should request an in-person, hand-stamped postmark at the post office counter. If there is no postmark and it is received after the due date, it is not accepted as a timely payment. A five percent penalty will be added to any current year payments made within the first ten days after the due date. Thereafter, all unpaid bills will have a 10% penalty added to the current year’s unpaid balance.
Payments may be made in one of the following manners:
By mail, mail the payment of check, money order or certified funds utilizing the self-addressed return envelope. Do not send cash. By dropbox, a secure dropbox is located on the left side of the front stairs of the courthouse. Do not pay by cash using the dropbox.
By credit card, debit card, or e-check, visit www.belmontcountytreasurer.org to make the payment or call 1-877-648-0134. Your seven-digit bill number is required and can be found on your tax bill. There is a convenience fee assessed. In office, office hours are Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All federal holidays are observed.
