Student Vacations Continue, Emergency Reduced to Level 1
All Area Public Schools Closed Fourth Consecutive Day
Weather continues to impact schools in eastern Ohio. By midafternoon Wednesday, several public school districts called classes on Thursday while some events through Saturday have also been canceled.
Barnesville Schools are closed Thursday. This will be Virtual Learning Day 3.
Union Local Schools will remain closed the remainder of the week.

Switzerland of Ohio Schools are closed on Thursday. Planned Parent Teacher Conferences will now take place, Monday Feb. 2.
East Guernsey Local Schools are closed on Thursday.
Noble Local posted the following announcement:
Due to weather conditions, school will be closed with remote learning on Wednesday, January 28 and Thursday, January 29. This will be calamity days 9 and 10.
As listed on the district calendar, Friday, January 30 will be an Innovation Day. Which means students will not be on campus. Students should have already received their assignments from their teachers.
Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for Thursday, January 29 will be held remote or by phone. Please contact your child’s teacher to determine what works best for you. Parent Advisory Meetings in both buildings will be canceled.
Food Pickup: Meals will be available Wednesday through Friday from 10:00–12:00 at the Elementary Building. Families should email nutrition@gozeps.org with the number of meals needed.
OVAC Duals Rescheduled
The OVAC Bill Hinegardner Wrestling Dual Championships are currently rescheduled for Thursday and Friday.
OVAC 3A (Barnesville) and OVAC 5A competitions are now set for Thursday at the John Marshall Fieldhouse in Moundsville.
OVAC 1A/2A and 4A (Union Local) matches are now set for Friday at Brooke High School, Wellsburg.
Other school sporting events including practices have not taken place.

Friday – Pennyroyal Opera House Bluegrass Performance
Saturday – Captina Conservancy Euchre Tournament
The four-county Farm Bureau Membership Kick-off Dinner Thursday night at the Buffalo Campus of the Mid-East Career Center is still on but a snow date of February 5 is now posted on the organization’s Facebook page.
