Barnesville Man Arrested on Drug, Weapon Charges
Release
Barnesville Police Chief Rocky Sirianni released information Thursday morning on an arrest in the village yesterday afternoon.
“On January 28, 2026, members of the Barnesville Police Department and Belmont County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on North Broadway Street near the elementary school. The search warrant came as a result of a narcotics investigation by Barnesville Police.”

“During the search, police seized nearly $4,000 cash, 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun. William Gibbons, 43, of Barnesville, was transported to Belmont County jail on charges of Trafficking in Drugs, Possession of Drugs, and Having a Weapon Under Disability” the department’s release noted.
Gibbons is currently housed in the Belmont County Jail awaiting arraignment. Total bail for the three charges is $50,000, according to the Belmont County Sheriff Department’s website.
