Karen Lee Grove

Karen Lee Grove, 82, passed away on Sunday January 19th, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Gail Davis; her in-laws CJ and Hazel Grove; a brother, Roger Davis and a brother-in-law, Jack Mitchell.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Grove, whom she married September 3, 1966 and her lifelong best friend and identical twin, Carole Mitchell. She was an adoring mama to three children; Michael (Courtney) Grove of Glassboro, NJ ; Tracy (Mark) Mason of Lancaster, OH and Lisa Grove of Zanesville, OH.  She was a wonderful Nanny to the blessings of her heart ; Madeline Mason, Molly Mason and Maggie Mason, all of Lancaster, OH.

Karen was a longtime member of the North 10th and Clairmont church of Christ in Cambridge, Ohio where she was active for many years. She taught Bible school, ran the food pantry and, along with her sister, created a Ladies’ Inspiration Day that ran for several years in a row.

She enjoyed tending to her flowers, working on crossword puzzles, reading, coloring and shopping ( where she never failed to come home without a new purse). But she loved spending time with her family most. Some of her happiest times was when everyone was home, staying up too late and enjoying their time together.

Karen chose to return to work when Lisa was 10 years old and went on to have a 25 year career with Nationwide Insurance. Her office building was two doors down from their house; much to the delight of her children who were frequent visitors after school.

She was a loving and wonderful wife, sister, mama and Nanny. Her presence made every day better. She will be forever missed.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 at 12:00. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services.  Services will be at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Evangelist Mark Mason, Karen’s son-in-law, will perform the services. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Ohio.
