Quad Counties Farm Bureaus Fete Retiring Director

This past Sunday, members of the Belmont-Guernsey-Monroe-Noble Farm Bureaus celebrated the retirement of senior organization director, Betsy Anderson who retired recently. Betsy served Belmont, Guernsey, Noble and Monroe County Farm Bureaus for over 40 years.

Anderson was also honored when she received a commendation from 95th District State Representative Don Jones (R -Freeport) “for her years of service and dedication to the agricultural industry”.

Auction House Fundraiser/Contest Benefits Hurricane Victims  

I70 Auctions located on Bridgewater Road west of the Middlebourne community hosted and sponsored Construction a Amateur Auctioneer Fundraiser Contest Friday evening, January 17 Cosponsors of the event were Tyler Faulk, auctioneer and real estate agent and Oakley Cattle/Construction.

The event raised around $3500 to help purchase items for the Hurricane Helene Relief Drive that is being coordinated by the Guernsey County Farm Bureau.

Judges for the event were Ross Parks, Jason Miller and Nelson Weaver. They were assist ed by Tyler Faulk.

Organizers thank the auction house staff and the Oakley family as well all the contestants, bidders, buyers, and everyone that donated items.

Coming in second place in the under-18 amateur auctioneer division was Branson Moore, a 10-year-old Buckeye Trail student and son of Randy and Kayla Moore of Salesville. Moore is a 4-H club member who displays rabbits and poultry at the Guernsey County Fair.   (I70 Auctions Facebook)

Former Area Teenager Auto Accident Victim

Monroe County native Kayleigh Dalrymple,14, of Chillicothe Illinois died after a Jeep she was in with five others lost control and struck a group of trees last Friday in Marshall County, Illinois. 

All six kids were taken to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center with injuries. Dalrymple was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the others were treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

A GoFundMe was set up by the family to help with funeral costs & the cost to get Kayleigh to Ohio.

Services took place Wednesday in Illinois. Wilson Funeral Home/Harper Chapel in Beallsville will handle final arrangements in Ohio in the near future.  An obituary is posted in today’s Barnesville Area News.
