Mayor Announces Appointments, 2025 Council Committees
At the January 13 Barnesville Village Council Meeting, Mayor Jake Hershberger announced several Boards and Commission appointments. They are:
- Boards of Commissioners of Public Parks: Ronna Allen and John Duch were both reappointed to three-year terms. Other members of this board are Leslie Shultz, Michelle McLaughlin and Nick Bauman
- Planning Commission: Brad Hudson was reappointed to a six-year term. Other members of the board are Chris Baker, Chase Milburn and Mayor Jake Hershberger
- Architectural Review Board (1361.06): Melissa Leach was renominated for a three-year term. Other members of the board are Luke Johnson, Linda Mayberry, Brad Hudson and Mike Sulek
- Board of Appeals: Terry McCort was renominated for a two-year term. The other two members of this board are Jim Jones and Mike Starr
- JEDDs: There are Two Joint Economic Development Boards. In 2024, the village appointee to one was Les Tickhill and the other Bill Knox, economic development director. Now that the council has terminated the development position and there is no longer any official relationship between Knox and the local government, Hersberger named councilmember Tickhill to fill the unexpired term for the second JEDD board
The mayor also set village council committees for 2025. The committees are Finance, Contract & Ordinance, Safety, Economic Development, Personnel, Streets, Alleys & Sidewalks, Building, Grounds & Cemetery, Public Recreation and Water & Sewer,
