Man Arrested in Bethesda on Several Charges
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Last Thursday evening as Belmont County deputies were delivering a warrant at a Rice Avenue Bethesda address, the suspect, Clyde Anthony Ellison fled on foot. Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Barnesville Police.
According to the sheriff’s report, Ellison was taken into custody. Force was needed to subdue the suspect with multiple tasers deployed.
The report indicates one officer was injured in the arrest while multiple body cams were broken in the incident.
The report indicates drugs and drug paraphernalia were in plain sight at the residence.
The suspect was taken to Barnesville Hospital then to the county jail where multiple charges were filed.

On Friday, according to the Belmont County Sheriff’s jail roster, Ellison remains in jail on the following charges:
Failure to appear Charge on a Domestic Violence Charge
Two charges of Assault on a Police Officer
Three charges for Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer
Two charges of Drug Abuse
