Randy “Howie” Howell

Randy “Howie” Howell, 62, of Woodsfield, Ohio (Miltonsburg Community) and formerly of Beallsville, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born July 2, 1962 in Marion Ohio. Randy was a 1980 graduate of Beallsville High School where he excelled as a proud Beallsville Blue Devil on the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams. He loved playing sports and his spirit of competition that he enjoyed as a young boy carried on throughout his adult life. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Randy was employed as an Engineer Operator for the IUOE, Local 18. He was a member of American Legion Post 768 of Beallsville, VFW Post 5303 of Woodsfield, the Woodsfield Eagles 2302, the Woodsfield Moose Lodge 2247, and the Beallsville Sportsman’s Club.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents-by-heart, Clyde and Hazel West Howell, also by his biological mother, Janet Moore Perzel. Left to honor his memory are his life-partner, Missy Kinney (also known to Randy as “Snoogie Boogie”); four daughters, Ashley Howell, Dacia Pittman, Victoria Pittman, and Jackie Pittman; a brother, Richard Howell; two sisters, Angie Hupp and Marla Kuhn Wittenbrook; four grandchildren, Harley Pittman, Billy Wick, Everett and Amelia Giffin; close friends, Sammy Hutchison, Tommy “Hoghead” Randall, Ernie “Earnest” Stephens, Mark “Peppy” Miller, and Jeff “Flu” Fluharty; also several nieces and nephews.
Randy will be remembered by all who knew him as the life of the party whose job it was to make everyone smile. He was a kind man, a hard worker, a loyal friend, and most importantly, a wonderful father whose greatest joy came from simply spending time with his children and grandchildren. His famous “Hey Bub!” and his ornery grin will forever be cherished by family, friends, and anyone who had ever met him.
Honoring Randy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. To celebrate his life, on Saturday, February 1st a memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at American Legion Post 768, 52651 Broad St., Beallsville, Ohio from 12noon until a time of remembering and sharing at 3pm when all in attendance will be invited to share stories and happy memories as Randy’s life is honored.
