Bonnie Stephen Bogue

Bonnie Stephen Bogue, age 95, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1929, in Quaker City, Ohio. She was the oldest of 9 children to the late Roman and Jennie (Carpenter) Stephen.

She graduated from Pleasant City High School in Pleasant City, OH and attended Columbus State University in Columbus, OH. She married Carroll Bogue on September 1, 1951, and lived 2 years in Panama City, Panama while Carroll served in the Navy. They returned to Columbus and lived in the Clintonville area for 45 years before moving to Powell, OH in 2001. Her greatest joy was being a mother and raising their 3 children. She was a docent for 37 years at the Columbus Museum of Art and also spent time as a volunteer at COSI.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She served the Lord by loving her family, serving others, and seeking wisdom. She was a generous and caring person to those in need. She held lifelong friendships and will be dearly missed by many.

Bonnie enjoyed nature and working in her garden. She was known for her cooking and using the fresh ingredients she grew. She canned her own vegetables, fruits, jams and jellies. She loved the Christmas season and would make batches of cookies for friends and neighbors.

Bonnie also loved flowers and was an Ikebana artist. Bonnie and Carroll loved to travel and her favorite destination was China. Bonnie also loved cheering on the Buckeyes!

Bonnie will be dearly missed by sons Mark Bogue (Cindy) of Utica, OH and Scott Bogue (Amy) of Roswell, GA. She was Nana to 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and two siblings, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Carroll R. Bogue and daughter Rhondra R. Dodrill. Her toy poodle Pippin was her companion for 12 years.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Church of Christ-Fishinger, 1130 Fishinger Road, Columbus Ohio 43221. Entombment at Union Cemetery.
