Interior renovations are currently underway at the village-owned Bohandy building at 102 East Main Street.
Barnesville Council members approved in a 4-0 vote a non-agenda expenditure at the January 16 meeting introduced by Terry McCort to spend $45,000 for improvements to the first floor business room that is often used by the chamber of commerce for special events. Village employees will assist a local contractor on the project.
During the discussion portion prior to the vote, Fire Chief Tim Hall cautioned members that the work might have to be scrapped due to building codes if the building is sold or leased.
Council members Steven Hill and Brian Yarnall did not attend the meeting.
