In this week’s Twice-Told Tales Redux for March 1941, we find….
“Mary McIvor, age about 43, movie star of the silent film era and a native of Barnesville, dies. She was born Mary McKeever. Her father was a jeweler here before moving to the west coast when she was a young girl. She was cousin of Miss May Wellons of E. Main Street. Her husband, William Desmond, also a movie star, and two daughters survive her”.
According to the Wikipedia profile on the actress, her silent film career spanned the years 1915 to 1929. We wonder if any of her films ever played at the Acme or Barnesville State Theater?
