This photo of Quaker City Band members who gathered on the steps of the Quaker City National Bank in the early 1900s is an example of the volunteer small town community bands that provided music for parades, social events and even graduations.
This particular photo was taken by prolific Quaker City photographer Earl J. Max. In addition to his photography work, he was owner/operator of the Max Cigar Factory that was located on the village’s north end.
