Lady Shamrocks Retain Milk Pitcher
Thursday night at Barnesville Memorial Park, the Shamrock Softball team blanked Union Local 4-0 to retain the coveted “Milk Pitcher” trophy that is passed between the two neighboring schools each season.
The game was scoreless save one inning, the bottom of the second when the Shamrocks recorded all four runs.
Pitcher EIla Betts and Aubrey Johnson crossed home plate while Emma Swan singled and tripled and Gracie Hines recorded a double. Sophia Carpenter and Abygail Ady hit RBI singles.
Ella Betts limited the Jets to one hit, pitched nine strikeouts and walked one.
