Barnesville Elementary School Announces 2025 Preschool Registration Dates

Barnesville, OH – Barnesville Elementary School announces that Preschool Registration for the 2025 school year will take place by appointment only on Friday, March 7, 2025, and Friday, March 14, 2025.

Children who will be three years old before August 1, 2025, are eligible for the program, which serves children ages 3 to 5 years old. Barnesville Preschool operates Monday through Thursday with both morning and afternoon sessions.

Barnesville Preschool is open to all families. However, as a program funded by the Ohio Department of Education, priority placement is given to children from low-income households. Tuition is based on family income.

How to Apply:

Families interested in enrolling their child should visit bevsd.org under the Parent & Student tab, then Parent Registration Forms, to complete the application.

Required Documents:

To complete registration, families must provide:

  • Parent ID or Driver’s License
  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Residency
  • Proof of Income (3 consecutive pay stubs)
  • Health Survey
  • Immunization Form
  • Custody or Court Placement Papers (if applicable)

Registration appointments will last approximately 15 minutes, and only one person may attend the appointment.

Barnesville Preschool is committed to providing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and early literacy skills. Using a research-based curriculum, including Creative Curriculum, Fundations, and Heggerty, the program supports each child’s individual growth.

Barnesville Kindergarten Registration Set

The Barnesville Elementary School will register Kindergarten students for the 2025-26 school year on Friday, February 28. Registration is by appointment only. Please contact school counselor Tom Porter at (740) 425-3116 x-3131 to schedule.  Families with students in the preschool program need not register. 

A list of papers necessary to complete registration is found online.

UL Pre-School Registrations

Registration for the Union Local School District Preschool program will be open this month through February 28.  The “Little Jets Registry” is open for children from birth to four years.  For more information call (740) 782-1384 Monday-Friday during the hours of 10:00-2:00.  

Update on Beallsville Schools “Team Jaxton” Fundraisers

In addition to the $4,800 raised at at youth basketball game on January 25, students at Beallsville Elementary School have raised additional $5,679.75 to assist fourth grader Jaxton Palmer’s family with medical bills and travel expenses for the fourth grade student battling cancer. Students challenged other schools including St. Sylvester’s, Powhatan and Woodsfield whose students came through the  “wearing pajamas to school” project.   

Union Local “Winter Wonderland” Formal – February 15

The Union Local Student Council will host the Winter Wonderland Formal at the school comnmons, Saturday, Februry 15 from 7:00-10:00. The cost is $10 per student.  Tickets will be sold at lunch through February 13.  Music will be provided by D J Daner.

Barnesville Middle School “Cupid Shuttle” – February 21

Students at Barnesville Middle School are invited to enjoy an event of music, food and drinks at the school on Friday, February 21 from 7:00-9:00. Music will be provided by DJ Maddox Whaley.

Presale tickets of $5 each may be purchased from Mrs. Anderson. A concession stand and photos will be available at an additional cost.
