‘Rox Return to the Win Column

Barnesville – 3, Buckeye Trail – 1

OLD WASHINGTON – The Shamrocks took advantage of excellent pitching and defense Tuesday snapping a two-game losing streak on the road at Buckeye Trail. They defeated the Warriors by a score of 3-1.  

Dylan Blon was solid on the mound, allowing only one run on six hits in a complete game effort. Blon struck out 11 batters, walking just two, to earn the victory.

Offensively, Barnesville collected four hits led at the plate by Braylon Lucas, Brayden Watters, Jack Anderson and Parker Sobutka. Lucas, Sobutka and Max Miller each recorded RBIs.

The victory raises the team’s record to 10-3. The team will return to action Friday evening at Sarahsville against Shenandoah.

Standings Update

Barnesville remains atop of the OVAC 3A baseball standings this week. The Shamrocks (10-3) came off the week with two loses shrinking their lead.

In the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association weekly poll, the Shamrocks (10-3) slipped slightly from #5 to #8 in Division 5, “after a couple rough outings last week”.

JV Team Tops Red Devils   

The Shamrock Junior Varsity team defeated St. Clairsville at Memorial Park Tuesday, 8-0.

The win raises their season record to 8-4 on the season. The team will play again Thursday at home against Wheeling Park. The first pitch is at 5 p.m.
