Shamrocks Edge Generals 3-2

WEST LAFAYETTE – The Shamrocks received great pitching and solid defense Saturday in a huge 3-2 victory on the road over Ridgewood.

Pitcher Bobby Thompson was excellent on the mound scattering 3 hits over 5 innings to earn the victory.  He struck out 5 batters and only walking two.

Bentley Stephen pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief of Thompson striking out 3 and walking one. Keegan Martin recorded the final out on a strike out to preserve the win and earn the save.

Offensively, the team produced 5 hits. They were led at the plate by Brayden Watters, Parker Sobutka (1 RBI), Max Miller, Blake Burkhart and Keegan Martin with a hit apiece. In addition, Dylan Blon contributed an RBI.

The victory raises the Rox record to 12-3 on the season.
