Inaugural Paul Burkhart Jr. High Softball Classic – May 3
Plans are set for the First Paul Burkhart Jr. High Softball Classic Sunday, May 3rd, at Barnesville Memorial Park. The games will take place every spring moving forward.
The Classic honors the memory of Paul P. Burkhart, (1929-2003), who coached the BHS Varsity Softball team for 20 years during his 39-year career as a teacher in the Barnesville School system. Burkhart was also junior high boys’ basketball coach for many years.
The day gets underway at 11 a.m. with opening ceremonies followed by four games.
- 11:30 a.m. – St. Clairsville vs Martins Ferry
- 1:30 p.m.- Barnesville vs Linsly
- 3:30- Consolation Game
- 5:30- Championship Game
