John F. Hart, 62, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on April 30, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University.

John was born on September 19, 1963, in Barnesville, Ohio, and was raised on the family farm in Belmont, Ohio. He graduated from Union Local High School in 1981. A man of faith, John began each day with devotion, grounding his life in his Christian beliefs.

John spent nearly four decades working for Superior Beverage, where he built a reputation as a dedicated and dependable employee. Most recently, he worked in the warehouse staging orders. He took immense pride in his work.

He lived life on his own terms and loved those close to him deeply. John never met a stranger and had a natural gift for making others feel welcome. He was an entertaining presence, full of personality, humor, and compassion for everyone he encountered.

John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including country music, camping, fishing, and a cold Miller beer. In his younger years, he played competitive slow-pitch softball and was an avid bowler.

A devoted fan of country music, John attended countless concerts and festivals, especially Jamboree in the Hills. He will be fondly remembered as “the best concert buddy.”

John is survived by his mother, Ruth Hart; his sisters, Hope Fry and Faith (Greg) Ehrle; his brother, Joe (Paige) Hart; his nieces, Beth Fry and Haley (Zack) Myers; his nephews, Hayden (Rachael) Ehrle, Graham (Jenna) Hart, Garrett Hart, and Colin Fry; and his great-nephew, Beckett Hart. He was also a beloved nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Hart, and his brother-in-law, Kirk Fry.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on June 7th at the Smith Township Community Center in Jacobsburg, Ohio from 1-4 pm.

John will be remembered for his big heart, his love of people, and the joy he brought wherever he went.
