Multiple Accidents Due to Ice Saturday, Level 1 Snow Emergency Sunday

Saturday morning Fairview, Barnesville, and Cumberland Trail fire and EMS responded to multiple crashes on I-70 between the Fairview and Barnesville Exits, according to a post by the Fairview VFD.
Social media posts also reported that a “sand box” semi unit had wrecked and was blocking traffic south of Barnesville while traffic on I-70 near St. Clairsville was impacted by an overturned tractor trailer.
Later in the day, temperatures rose, and flooding was a concern as rain continued throughout the day and night.
Snow arrived just before Noon Sunday dropping several inches of snow over the next couple of hours. Belmont County declared a Level 1 Snow Emergency in the afternoon.
