Meyer Wins Auditor’s Contest

In a hotly contested Republican primary contest for Belmont County Auditor, current two-term auditor Cindi Henry came up short in her bid for a third term.

Former county commissioner Josh Meyer beat Henry by 481 votes, 3,658 to 3,177.  Former Shadyside official Nick Ferelli came in third with 901 votes.

Percentage wise, Meyer collected 47% of the votes to Henry’s 41% and Ferelli’s 12%.

Since no Democrat filed for the position, Meyer’s will appear unopposed on the November 3rd ballot. He will be sworn in to the position in January.

Results are unofficial until the Belmont County Board of Elections meets on May 14 for the Official Canvass to certify the results of the May 5, 2026, Primary Election. The meeting will open at 8:30 a.m. and the board will reconvene at 4 p.m., said Eberle Ferrell, director.
