Major Route 147 Paving Project Begins
A major Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) paving project will begin Monday “to resurface eight miles of roadway from Barnesville to Belmont”.
Work will begin at the intersection of East Main and Chestnut Street as the existing paved surface is “milled down” close to the original c.1892 street brick pavement.
According to the ODOT announcement the completion date is September 30.
A Public Notice posted by the Village of Barnesville notes the following traffic impacts:
One lane of traffic will be maintained
Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic flow
Expect delays and changing traffic patterns
No parking on East Main Street during project times
Motorists should use caution in the work zone area, follow posted signage, and allow for extra travel time.
