The lone Senior competing at Athens was Addy Moore- Swam through sickness and made sure the underclassman knew what determination is all about.

The Shamrocks two alternates stayed the day and were ready to go. They are Nixon Smith and Kierra Philips.

That wraps the season up- but Spring Swim starts in a couple weeks for 5th-8th graders and then summer and to winter and back to the bus and back to Wheeling Park High School.

Wrapping up the season, Coach Johnson further reflected…..

“Imagine if you will you are an athlete and you are told you will practice only 2-3 times a week and ride 50 minutes each way to get to the practice facility and then you are told that you would be competing with other high school athletes that have their own pools, they practice 2-3 times a day and often have their own nutritionist, trainers and personal coaches. Well, that is what happens every year with the Shamrock swimmers and every year our swimmers perform! And then your time would be put up against other Top Ohio Swimmers.

“One group that we cannot leave the season without mentioning our Parents/Family/Friends.  I always find it amazing that this group will show up throughout the season to watch their swimmer swim in a 30 second race. They do. They also make sure our team has snacks/drinks for our swimmers/coaches and even our bus drivers. It is always amazing to look up and see this group screaming and yelling for not only their swimmer but everyone on the team and even other teams. Often it is not said often enough-Thank you to all of you!

“Please “like” our Barnesville Summer Swim Team Facebook page- for updates and pictures. See you in a couple of weeks with Aqua Rocks Swim”.
