Monday, May 11, 2026

3:29 am – officer on Pine Lane responding to a parking complaint. Citation issued. Officer issued additional parking violation citations for four vehicles.

6:38 am – traffic stop on Bethesda Street/Railroad Street.

10:16 am – welfare check on a student. Officer contacted the child. All is okay.

10:25 am – male on station asking how to evict a person from their home. Dispatcher advised that they need to file an eviction notice with the courts.

10:41 am – report of a man watching kids at the park.

10:46 am – female caller states someone is stalking her friend. Dispatcher advised the friend should visit the station and fill out a complaint.

2:48 pm –caller from the Barnesville Hospital reports a vehicle backed into another one in the main parking lot.

2:48 pm – Citation issued following an accident on Shamrock Drive.

4:17 pm – male on station upset over a parking ticket wants to talk to someone.

6:22 pm – female on station reporting a text phone scam. Officer assisted with blocking the number on her phone.

7:01 pm – caller from Pine Lane states her sister received a parking ticket yesterday. The vehicle was parked in the location because there was no other parking option. The landlord will check leases to determine who is parking too many cars. The rule is two cars per apartment.

9:26 pm – caller requesting a welfare check on her brother on Washington Street. Officer made contact with the brother who is okay.

10:33 pm – caller from Hilles Avenue reports his husky dog was loose. Officer located dog and returned to the owner.

Tuesday, May 12, 2026

1:57 am – caller reports an erratic person in the Wiley Avenue area is running thru the woods and beating on doors.

10:59 am – motor vehicle crash on East Main Street. Tow company enroute.

2:01 pm – traffic stop on West South Street. Warning issued for traffic device.

2:20 pm – assisting another unit on Washinton Street, Somerton. One suspect detained, affirmative warrant. Female has been mirandized. Female had drug paraphernalia in her property.

2:48 pm – caller from West Main Street reports two dogs are fighting in her back yard. Officer reported that the dogs are now separated and are from the same property.

4:19 pm – caller complaining about parking on Pine Lane.

5:43 pm – caller states a person is saying odd things to girls.

Wednesday, May 13, 2026

11:30 am – female on station reporting her account was hacked. She gave personal information over the phone.

1:03 pm – caller from South Lincoln Avenue states neighbors are fighting with loud yelling and screaming coming from the apartment.

3:04 pm – caller from West Church Street complaining about trash blowing into their yard. Officer did not see any trash at this time. Officer contacted the resident at the address.

4:59 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street near Belmont Savings Bank.

6:24 pm – traffic stop on West Main Street. Consent to search was granted. A warning was issued for a scale and a couple of syringes.

6:37 pm – dispatcher noticed a male and female outside the apartment building next door are arguing. Dispatcher notified officer.

6:49 pm – male on station reports receiving Creditwise notification his social security number is being used elsewhere. Dispatcher recommended contacting the bank so they are aware of the situation.

7:03 pm – road work sign blew over with a metal rod sticking out in the roadway.

8:42 pm – person on station regarding possible child neglect, wants to speak with an officer to file a report.

8:54 pm – follow up investigation on Mackey Drive regarding a complaint reported on station. Officer had negative contact.

10:37 pm – male on station regarding trucks driving thru town crossing the double yellow line. He talked to an officer.

Thursday, May 14, 2026

9:55 am – Belmont County Sheriff’s Department called advising they came across a stolen car on McMillan Road. Owner lives on West South Street.

12:40 pm – officer assisting a Belmont County Sheriff’s deputy on Hutchinson Street. House is abandoned with the front door open.

1:46 pm – caller reports a guy walking a dog near Mulberry Street who may be drunk.

1:50 pm – suicide attempt reported in the village.

Friday, May 15, 2026

12:22 am – traffic stop on McMillan Road.

6:04 am – traffic stop on State Route 147 east.

7:41 am – complaint of a commercial vehicle blocking traffic on East Main Street. Officer had negative contact with the vehicle.

3:01 pm – caller states that she believes that someone has put a tracker on her car. Dispatcher told her to come to the station and talk to an officer.

3:05 pm – officer transporting student home from school after student missed the bus. Student lives on South Chestnut Street.

3:07 pm – traffic stop on Church Street. Warning issued for traffic device.

5:39 pm – caller states she lost keys to her apartment. Dispatcher advised that she call a locksmith because the police can’t open the door for her. She says she can’t reach anyone. Dispatcher recommended she contact apartment maintenance person.

9:00 pm – traffic stop on South Chestnut Street.

Saturday, May 16, 2026

3:08 am – overdose, East Church Street.

6:25 am – traffic stop on South Chestnut Street.

8:24 am – car blocking the alley on North Lincoln Avenue. Tow requested.

9:17 am – caller from Belview Street reports a dog is barking nonstop. The caller reports the dog is very mean.

10:15 am – caller from Warren Avenue reports a burning smoldering pile of wood. A person is cooking on the fire.

12:02 pm – caller from South Chestnut Street reports a person is threating to harm himself.

12:18 pm – caller from previous log now reports all is well and the male is not going to hurt himself.

2:36 pm – caller from Warren Avenue called regarding the previous log concerning a burning fire.

2:52 pm – caller from previous Warren Avenue call wants the name of the officer who investigated the fire matter. She intends to call the Department of Justice about the situation.

4:39 pm – traffic stop on State Route 147 East.

6:03 pm – caller asking if his car was towed from North Lincoln Avenue. Dispatcher responded it was because it was blocking an alley.

7:35 pm – traffic stop on State Route 147 East.

8:25 pm – traffic stop on Somerton Highway/Wright Road.

8:48 pm -traffic stop on State Route 147 East.

9:27 pm – traffic stop on Mulberry Street.

9:59 pm – caller from South Broadway Street requesting a welfare check. Officer had negative contact.

10:12 pm – traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue.

10:14 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

10:52 pm – traffic stop on State Route 147.

10:57 pm – traffic stop on State Route 147.

11:39 pm – traffic stop on Bond Avenue.

Sunday, May 17, 2026

4:51 am – traffic stop on State Route 147 East.

5:51 am – caller from South Gardner Street reports a cow is out walking towards the center of town.

10:26 am – follow up investigation on Belview Street.

10:46 am – caller from Belview Street requested an officer come to their residence regarding yesterday’s incident about a barking dog.

12:06 pm – caller reported an accident at Walgreens parking lot. Dispatcher requested both parties come to the station to complete a private property report.

4:41 pm -caller from Morgantown Avenue reports a truck has blocked the roadway for the past two hours. Officer reported negative contact with the truck.

7:05 pm – male caller states his parents will not give him the keys to the side-by-side until he cleans up the trash in the garage. He asks if the police can do anything about it.

7:37 pm -vehicle lockout on South Broadway Street.

10:48 pm – traffic stop on Shamrock Drive.
