Kenneth E. Kovacs

Kenneth E. Kovacs, 76, of Flushing, Ohio died May 24, 2026 at home.

He was born May 3, 1950 in Wheeling, WV son of the late Ernest “EK” Kovacs and Doris Fuller Kovacs.

Kenny was a coal miner for many years at mines including Franklin Mine, Powhatan #6, Saginaw Mine, and Pot Ash mines in New Mexico. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kenny was a member of Flushing Christian Church in Flushing, OH, a member of the Eagles Arie #2541 of St. Clairsville, and the Sons of the American Legion Flushing Post #366. He enjoyed fishing, watching TV with his coffee, and most of all socializing and joking with anyone he could.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by a grandson David Kovacs.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Cheryl Sells Kovacs; his children, Jodi (James) Jurney, Rob (Michelle) Kovacs, and Dan (Suzanne) Kovacs; brothers Patrick (Susan) Kovacs and Rodney “Hutch” (Karen) Kovacs; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes there will be no public visitation or services held.
