Leona “Babe” (Hunt) Hardy

Leona “Babe” Pearl Hardy, age 88, of Old Washington died peacefully at 5:39 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Embassy of Cambridge.

She was born in Belmont County on January 19, 1937; a daughter of the later Ralph Zellar Hunt and Helen Margaret Vanfossen Hunt.

Leona enjoyed going to yard sales, and didn’t pass one up.

Her husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Garver Hardy, died October 5, 2016. They were married June 4, 1955.

Surviving is a son, Rodney Allen (Donna) Hardy of Freeport; a grandson, Matthew Hardy of Quaker City; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Marie Hardy; a friend, Jennifer Treherne of Byesville; and a sister, Norma Greene of Old Washington.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Tyler Hardy on March 30, 2003; and a brother, William Hunt.

Visitation and Service will be on Monday, February 24, 2025 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. Visitation from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Peggy Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Flushing Township, Belmont County, Ohio.
