Varsity Boys Basketball (Updated)

Final score from Ridgewood.
Barnesville – 42, Ridgewood – 34

Barnesville advances to play on Wednesday, February 26 at a site TBD.

The Shamrocks will travel to Ridgewood on Saturday, February 22nd for their first game in the Div. V Boys Basketball East District bracket. Tipoff is at 7:00

Results will post following the competition.  

Varsity Girls Basketball

Wednesday, February 19:   Tusky Valley – 49, Barnesville – 16

This game in Division V, East District Round Two of Girls Basketball ended the Shamrocks season and the high school careers of Maddy Tyson and Zoey Fritter     

Varsity Bowling

Thursday, February 20 – Barnesville’s Boys and Girls Bowling teams competed in the District at Legacy Lanes, Coshocton.

The boys came in 5th and the girls 6th in team scoring.

Senior Haley Hoffer placed 11th in the girls’ division and Colton Hall, 9th, in the boys competition, the two highest scorers for the Shamrocks.   

While this ends the season for the two teams, Hoffer will finish her high school season at Morgantown on Sunday, March 15 as she competes in the Ohio vs. West Virginia Seniors match.

Varsity Wrestling Updated

Barnesville is the Division III Sectional Champion.

Saturday, February 22 – Barnesville hosts the Ohio Division III Sectional Wrestling Tournament. Getting underway at 10:00, teams from the following schools are entered in the competition.  Barnesville, Beallsville, Buckeye Local, Coshocton, Crooksville, Fairless, Fort Frye, Martins Ferry, Monroe Central, Ridgewood, River, Shenandoah, Toronto and Union Local.

Girls Shot Put – Macy Palmer, 3rd place, 32’ 6.75”

Boys Shot Put – Braxton Byers, 6th place, 40’ 6.50”; Maguire Clouse, 9th place, 38’ 9”

Boys Long Jump – Will Wells, 4th place, 18’ 2”; Brody Carpenter, 7th place, 17’ 2.75”; Dalton Drake, 11th place, 13’ 10.75”

Girls 4 x 200 Meter Relay – Barnesville, 3rd place, 2:02.45

Boys 4 x 200 Meter Relay – Barnesville, 2nd place, 1:44.78

Boys 55 Meter Hurdles – Phoenix Graham, 8th place, 9.83

Girls 55 Meter Dash – Addyson Keiger, 2nd place, 7.86   (New School Record)

There were 24 girl teams participating. Barnesville came I 5th with 23 total points.

There were 21 boy teams participating. Barnesville came in 4th with 32 total points.   

Varsity Cheerleaders

Sunday, February 23 – OASSA Cheer State Championships.  Big Walnut HS, Sunbury. Results will post following the competition.

Barnesville Cheerleader Try Outs Set

Tryouts for the 2025-2026 season will take place on Friday, March 7. More information will be shared soon.
