Walton Home Courtyard Revitalization Brings Joy to Residents

Walton Retirement Home residents and community members joined forces to breathe new life into the courtyard area at the retirement home. The residents shared their ideas, and the staff and community made them a reality.

Items donated included raised flower beds, hanging baskets, soil, flowers, vegetable plants, and patio furniture. The courtyard became a place for several summertime bashes and a place for residents to sit with their families and friends.

The residents have worked in the vegetable garden, picking onions, zucchini, cucumbers, and green peppers. With their homegrown vegetables, they made zucchini bread and cucumber salad for lunch.

Soon, the fall season will be here, and the Walton Retirement Home would like to continue making the courtyard a center of activity and a festive place to visit.

Anyone interested in assisting with the courtyard transformation can contact Amy Keiser at 740-425-2344 or email her at HR@waltonhome.org for more information.
