Gail Marlene Kemp Barbe

Gail Marlene Kemp Barbe, 79, of Belmont, Ohio, passed away at home on July 29, 2026.

Marlene was born December 6, 1946, a daughter of the late William Kemp and Katherine Van Dyne Kemp.

Marlene was defined by her faith, family, and work ethic. She spent her earlier years raising her beloved children and taking care of the home. Marlene went on to apply her accounting skills for multiple banks and companies around the Ohio Valley. She found joy in serving her community, which was seen through her work as a 4-H advisor and a Sunday school teacher. Marlene was also known for her amazing homemade cookies. She was a longtime member of the Morristown Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Stonebraker, and her daughter Brenda Lee Barbe Stillion.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald A. Barbe; her daughters, Karen Kay Barbe and Tina Dawn (Mike) Barbe-Cox; her grandchildren, Dakota (Mary) Stillion, Connor (Maggie) Stillion, Gabriel Barbe-Cox, Mikayla Barbe-Cox, Rylee Stillion, Brennen Stillion, and Alayna Stillion; a great-grandchild, Leighton Stillion; a brother Donald Kemp, and son-in-law Scott (Stacie) Stillion.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., closing with a broken wand ceremony. The following day, Monday, August 3, 2026, there will be visitation from 12 p.m., until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Morristown Christian Church in Morristown, Ohio, with Pastor Curtis Hallstrom officiating. The burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
