Eugene John Barone

Eugene John Barone, of Belmont, formerly of Beallsville/Cambridge, died at home residing with family on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Eugene was born on November 2, 1932, in Avon Lake, a son to the late John and Jane (Redmond) Barone.
Eugene proudly served his country alongside his brother in the Korean War. During his service, he was proudly awarded the Purple Heart for his brave actions. He served four years in the US Army. He was a man of many traits. He worked as a server, a cook, and a surveyor and worked at River Bridge and retired from W&O Coalmine. Eugene loved being with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and every animal he saw.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ramon, and his wife, Hilda Barone.
Eugene is survived by his four stepdaughters, Carla (Tim) Toohey of Belmont, Brenda McMahaon of Jacobsburg, Karen McEndree of Lafferty, and Rhonda Lindmood of Bethesda, many grandchildren including, Mark (Michelle) McEndree of Lafferty and Shane (Brooklyn) Williams of Belmont, and several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Thorn Black Funeral Home.
