Terri Lee (Abee) McClelland
Terri Lee (Abee) McClelland, 67, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Carolina Caring in Newton.
She was born on February 4, 1959, to the late Jones Abee and Margaret Davidson Abee in Catawba County.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Maragret Ann Moretz, brothers, David Hollar and Eddie Hollar, and brother-in-law; Brad McClelland.
For many years, Terri served her community as a substitute teacher at Clyde Campbell Elementary School. In that role, she was known for a steady presence and a considerate way of supporting students and staff alike, offering her time in ways that reflected a genuinely giving spirit.
Terri’s care for others extended well beyond the classroom. She crocheted toboggans for cancer patients in local hospitals, a quiet and thoughtful act of kindness that brought warmth and comfort to those facing difficult days.
Above all, Terri cherished time with her family and loved being together with those closest to her. She also found joy in travel—especially trips to the beach, visits to Disney, and cruises—that offered both adventure and rest.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Casey McClelland, daughters, Holly McClelland, Lacey McClelland, brother, Fred Hollar and wife Donna, brother-in-law, Brian McClelland and wife Cathi, sister-in-law, Janice McClelland and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Terri will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
