Lady Rocks Volleyball: ‘Got Milk Jug Trophy?’

On Saturday, September 12, the Shamrock volleyball teams traveled to Union Local. The Varsity team defeated the Lady Jets to claim the Milk Jug Trophy. Barnesville won in three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-19. Earlier in the season, the Varsity Shamrocks won at home against the Jets in three sets.

The stats for this match include:

• Londyn Gibson: 18 assists, 2 points and 9 digs
• Alivia Smolira: 5 blocks and 6 kills
• Avery Bliss: 15 points, 2 aces, 10 kills and 6 digs
• Brielle Van Horn: 8 points, 2 aces and 8 kills
• Makenna Marley: 10 points, 4 aces and 5 digs
• Raegan Lucas: 5 points and 2 aces
• Brooklyn Miller: 2 points and 8 digs
• Adri Leasure: 2 points and 3 digs
• Caydence Stephen: 1 point and 5 kills

Barnesville is now 5-4 on the season.

The Junior Varsity team also won in two sets, 25-17 and 25-20, keeping the team undefeated. They are now 8-0 on the year.

Both 7th- and 8th-grade teams beat UL in two sets, improving their records to 7-1.

This coming week, the volleyball teams face Cambridge, Shenandoah, Monroe Central and St. Clairsville.
