Ruth Louise Evans

Ruth Louise Evans, 86, of Barnesville, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026 at The Enclave at Barnesville. She was born on September 18, 1939 in Morristown, Ohio to the late David Leander and Elizabeth (Sprowls) Mellott.

Ruth was strong willed and had a loving personality. She had a beautiful smile and adored her family, she spoiled them all. Ruth loved KFC.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Lewis Shaw; her second husband, Raymond Duayne Evans; two infant children, Jack Lewis Shaw II and William Allen Shaw; siblings, David Mellott Jr., Alfred Joshua Mellott, Richard Allen Mellott, George Franklin Mellott, Matilda Mae Huntsman, James Edward Mellott, and Agnes Marie Pinkerton.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Irene Joslin and Rose Marie Harris; grandchildren, Matthew Lewis Shaw-Cain, Corinne Leola Crowe, Chrystal Mae Crowe, Chadwick Martin Crowe, and Chantelle Renee Compton; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Charles Henry Mellott; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Ruth’s care had been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
