Education Foundation Elects
The Barnesville Area Education Foundation held elections during the organization’s annual meeting on Monday, September 14.
Officers for the coming year are Miles Jefferis, president; Brian Yarnall, vice president; Ted Hanlon, secretary; Msgr. Mark Froehlich, assistant secretary and Rick Wilson, treasurer.
New trustees for the years 2027-2029 are Sam Lucas, Rob Miller and Sarah Powell.
They join Lynn Spiczenski, Richard Marmie, Brian Yarnall, Miles Jefferis, Tim McKelvey and Jeff Shepherd as trustees for the coming year.
Retiring trustees are Joel Braido, Lane Sylvis and Nancy Napolitano.
Founded in 1979 by the late Lodge Hanlon, the Barnesville Education Foundation awarded grants and scholarships totaling $145,345.06 during the 2025-2026 school year.
The 2026 alumni raffle winner was selected at the annual meeting. The winning ticket was purchased by Earl R. Wells, BHS grad in the class of 1965.
The mission of the Barnesville Area Education Foundation is to provide funds for local education systems and students that might not otherwise be available through public funds.
