Volleyball Action During Week of September 21
On Monday at home, the Barnesville Varsity volleyball team dropped the match against Martins Ferry, which is the Division V State Rank #3 team. The loss was in four sets, with scores of 25-19, 16-25, 15-25 and 19-25. The Junior Varsity team lost its match, with scores of 25-11, 24-26 and 26-28.
The Junior High teams traveled to Martins Ferry the same night and both won in two sets. The 8th-Grade team’s scores were 25-22 and 25-20. The 7th-Grade team’s scores were 25-5 and 25-9.
The Junior High volleyball teams hosted Harding on Tuesday. Both teams won in two sets.
On Wednesday, the Junior High teams faced Bellaire in the Shamrock High School gym. The 8th-grade team won in two sets, with scores of 25-13 and 25-13. The 7th-Grade team got its win in two sets with scores of 25-9 and 25-9.
The week finished up with the Lady Rocks going to Bellaire on Thursday. Winning in three sets, the Varsity team’s scores were 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14. The Junior Varsity won 25-15 and 25-11.
Next week, the Lady Shamrock Volleyball teams will have matches against River, Harrison Central, Monroe Central and Harding. Saturday, October 3, is the Buckeye 8 Championship, played at the ECO Center.
