Joyce T (Spradlin) Mayberry

Joyce T. Mayberry, 96, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at The Walton Retirement Home. She was born on June 22, 1928, in Radnor, Ohio to the late Dewey and Laura (Dotson) Spradlin.
Joyce was a 1946 graduate of New Lexington High School and graduate White Cross Hospital with a Bachelors in Nursing. Joyce was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville where she was part of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Barnesville Hospital Twig, Wheeling Dental Auxiliary, Barnesville Garden Club, Jr. Women’s Club, investment club and White Cross Nursing Alumni.
Joyce was affectionately known by her family and friends as “Ging”. She was a devoted wife, loving wife, affectionate grandmother, and friend to everyone.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dr. Donald M. Mayberry who passed away on April 3, 2020; siblings, Bobby Spradlin, Ralph Spradlin, Norma (Tom) Richards.
Joyce is survived by a son, Dr. David (Lynda) Mayberry of Barnesville; daughter, Martha (Bobby Johnson) Moorehead of Barnesville; five grandsons: John (Janine) Sickmeyer of Upper Arlington, Michael (Christy) Moorehead of Powhatan, Justin (Dorothy) Turner of St. Clairsville, Dr. Jordan (Amy) Mayberry of Cincinnati, and Andrew (Amanda) Moorehead of Flushing; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Susie (Rich) Turner, Roy (Ann) Spradlin, Lee (Jan) Spradlin.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
The family would like to thank The Walton Home and SouthernCare Hospice for their special care of Joyce and all of the nurses and aides that helped her over the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to the First United Methodist Church or to The Walton Retirement Home.
