Applicants Interviewed for Barnesville BOE
On Tuesday, the Barnesville Board of Education formally accepted the resignation of Tammy Wells, effective September 18, at a special board meeting.
The Board went into executive session to interview the five applicants for the unexpired board position. The applicants were Mary Devine, Denise Jones, Michele McGee, Mark Spangenburg and Christina Stephens.
The vote to approve the selected candidate will occur at the regular Board meeting on Thursday, followed by the new member being sworn into office.
The person appointed will serve through December 31, 2027. An election will be held in 2027 to fill the remaining two years of the term that will end on December 31, 2029.
