WVU Medicine Opens Belmont County Rapid Care Clinic
PRESS RELEASE
WHEELING, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital celebrated the opening of its newest Rapid Care location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the St. Clairsville Health Center, 51339 National Road East, St. Clairsville, marking another step forward in the organization’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to convenient, high-quality healthcare throughout Belmont County and the surrounding region.
Located within the St. Clairsville Health Center, the new Rapid Care provides patients with convenient access to medical treatment for a variety of non-emergency illnesses and injuries, including colds, coughs, minor cuts, and other common health concerns. Services include evaluation and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, with diagnostic capabilities such as X rays and treatment options including sutures. The new location complements the existing primary care and specialty services available at the St. Clairsville Health Center, providing area residents with another convenient option for receiving care close to home.
“Expanding access to healthcare throughout the communities we serve continues to be one of our highest priorities,” said Douglass Harrison, President and CEO of WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and WVU Medicine North Region. “The opening of this Rapid Care is another example of our commitment to meeting patients where they are and ensuring that families throughout Belmont County have access to the services they need, when they need them. We are proud to continue investing in this community and building upon the strong relationships we’ve established here.”
Operated by Wheeling Hospital, the St. Clairsville Rapid Care is designed to provide an accessible alternative for patients seeking timely treatment for conditions that do not require emergency department services. “Rapid Care plays an important role in helping patients receive the appropriate level of care without unnecessary delays,” said Leanne Goddard, Regional Director of Primary Care and Urgent Care Services for WVU Medicine. “Whether someone is dealing with a sudden illness, a minor injury, or another unexpected medical concern, our goal is to make receiving care as convenient and efficient as possible. Having these services available alongside primary care and specialty providers creates an even stronger healthcare resource for the St. Clairsville community.”
The opening reflects WVU Medicine’s continued efforts to strengthen its regional network of healthcare services, improve access to care, and provide patients with more options for receiving treatment within their own communities.
With the addition of Rapid Care services, the St. Clairsville Health Center continues to grow as a destination for comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare for residents of Belmont County and beyond.
