Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log March 31 through April 6 are reported below.

Monday, March 31, 2025

3:08 pm – officer out with Ems at Barnesville Thrift Store.

3:36 pm – Wiley Avenue,  officer attempted to make contact with person.

4:33 pm – South Chestnut Street, traffic stop, warning given for left of center.

8:18 pm – 911 transfer call, Caller stated that he ordered pizza earlier from a Barnesville shop and they would not come through the door to bring him his pizza. Dispatcher asked if he received his pizza order, he said he did but the employee would not bring him his pizza. He was advised to call the pizza store because this is not a police matter. Caller was irate and hung up.

8:27 pm – person called back into 911 a second time and states he wants help due to his pizza not being delivered by bringing it inside the residence. Advised that this is not a police matter. Caller is still irate and was told an officer will follow up with him.

8:29 pm – follow up with the previous calls. Advised person must not call into 911 for the pizza issue.

10:02 pm – investigate complaint, caller tried to call the Barnesville Police Department but ended up getting Barnesville Georgia. He wants officers to come and arrest him or to figure out this pizza situation. Call closed out.

11:40 pm – person from previous pizza issues called 911 again. He is irate claiming he is being discriminated against by the pizza store. States that no one is helping him, and he is willing to go to jail tonight. Still irate that we are not investigating. Advised that this is a civil matter and to contact the pizza’s corporate office because the local store will not talk to him. He stated that the police investigated a similar complaint three years ago about another Barnesville pizza store. Person is still irate and shouting on the phone.  Dispatcher advised an  officer call him back.

11:54 pm – Belmont County Sheriff’s office called in reference to the pizza complaint. They were contacted too.  Advised them about the situation.

Tuesday, April 1, 2025

12:01 am – 911 transferred call about reference to pizza complaint. Officer spoke with caller.

12:31 am – officer out to speak with person. Requested squad but person refused.

2:40 pm – person has been coming to visit and upsetting them at local residential facility. The staff will   talk to her today and tell her that she can visit but if it upsets them she will have to leave.

2:53 pm – accident property damage, Walton Avenue.

4:53 pm – East Main Street caller requesting permission to block sidewalk to park there for a day or two due to neighbors digging a trench in the backyard where his usually parks at. Dispatcher advised that they could not give permission but would refer him to a supervisor.

6:22 pm – caller advised of a large black/brown dog running at large near the high school. Caller wanted us to be aware in case of getting calls about a missing dog.

6:52 pm – Henderson Street caller advises they plan to have a cookout over a fire. It was approved by fire chief.

11:46 pm – East South Street/South Gardner Street, traffic stop. Clear. Valid driver is operating vehicle.

Wednesday, April 2, 2025

12:56 pm – caller concerned about a man walking on Flower Drive wearing a ski mask and pink pants. Advised officer of the call.

2:03 pm – East Main Street, alarm drop. General alarm doesn’t state where it originates. Spoke to employees and was advised ATM is being repaired.

6:07 pm – Pine Lane, caller advised there is an issue with neighbors. Caller wants to talk to officer.

9:48 pm – South Gardner, traffic stop. Consent to search allowed. Negative findings.

Thursday, April 3, 2025

12:01 am – caller referencing a driver driving at a low rate of speed, just leaving the corporation on south 800.

3:20 pm – 400 block West Main Street, parking complaint.

3:52 pm – responded to a fire alarm activation. Staff advised it was a false alarm.

4:12 pm – North Chestnut Street, traffic stop. Citation was issued.

4:43 pm – East Main Street, traffic stop. Citation was issued.

5:49 pm – Captina Drive, traffic stop.

6:11 pm – South Lincoln Avenue, disabled vehicle. Vehicle has issues with steering and Hissom’s is coming to get the vehicle.  Officer standing by to direct traffic.

6:17 pm – caller wanting to know if they are going to run the street sweeper tonight. Advised that we didn’t know but would find out.

7:12 pm – North Chestnut Street, investigating complaint. Caller states that his neighbors is beating on his own house and cussing at it. He locked himself out of his house and is upset and waiting on the landlord to bring him a key.

9:14 pm – South Chestnut Street, alarm drop, all doors are secure, and nothing appears to be disturbed.

Friday, April 4, 2025

1:11 am – 911 hang up, spoke to residents and stated that everything was all right. It was accidental.

8:02 am – investigate complaint, Mothers Club Park Shelter during Mobile Food Market. Advised a man spit in her daughter’s face. Person doesn’t know the name of the man but wants to file charges. Officer took statement and information for the report. Other person was not on scene upon arrival.

11:03 am – caller wants a contact number for someone to get a dozen cats out of his basement. Also asked how to get people out of his residence. Caller was advised that he would have to go through the eviction process.

12:23 pm – vehicle lock out, village lot. Vehicle unlocked.

12:49 pm – caller states that he had a face book friend request and was asking how to find out if they had a warrant out of WV.

1:26 pm – East South Street, investigate complaint. Employee advised there was an altercation between a male and female. Advised the female was yelling for the male to get out of the car and for him to get his hands off her. Male appeared to be intoxicated. Female left in the vehicle and male left the scene by walking up East South Street. Noticed male on camera walking on South Arch Street onto East Main Street. Officer enroute to residence to determine man going there or jail. Officer out on Morse Lane and spoke to female and she stated she was struck in the face but didn’t want to pursue charges.

5:10 pm – Pine Lane, vehicle lock out.

5:11 pm – follow up investigation, Morris Lane. Enroute for follow up.

5:21 pm – caller asking if we unlock vehicles. Advised we do, caller will call back later with location.

7:17 pm – Walton Avenue, 911 hangup. Upon calling back, dispatcher spoke to a person who advised four-year-old son had the phone. All was okay.

7:52 pm – South Chestnut Street, warning improper display and headlight out.

9:24 pm – Euclid Avenue, traffic stop, gave warning for front headlights not working.

11:30 pm – male caller that he called a couple of days ago regarding parking on the sidewalk.

Saturday, April 5, 2025

12:01 am – caller states that they struck a deer on Route 147 outside of Barnesville, close to South Central Power. Transferred call to Ohio State Patrol.

2:03 am – Mill Street, alarm drop. The building is secure. Clear.

7:23 am – contact party in person, has a paper that needs signed by police.

8:21 am – investigate complaint. Central dispatch received an Apple crash alert. Pinging on the corner of Dorsey Avenue/Pike Street. The area was negative contact.

12:58 pm – vehicle lock out, ER parking lot at Barnesville Hospital.

1:19 pm – store manager called and advised that a female and an older female have been at the store on Thursday, Friday and today. They bought roughly $2600.00 in Apple gift cards during this time.

6:30 pm – There is a wreck on Route 800, advised State Highway Patrol.

6:35 pm – accident with property damage on Route 800. Officer standing by for Ohio State Patrol and directing traffic.

6:52 pm – Gobbers Knob, traffic stop. Gave a warning for left of center.

10:34 pm – Vine Street, traffic stop. Gave a warning for turn signal.

11:39 pm – South Gardner Street, neighbor called in and states that there is a party going on with underage kids and noise. Also states that this is an ongoing issue.

Sunday, April 6, 2025

11:21 am – person walking near WesBanco office. Has an active warrant out of Belmont County.

4:24 pm – investigate complaint, female at station speaking with an officer.

6:35 pm – In reference to female in previous log, the person got into an argument with their mother and left home and turned off their location services. The person is at Memorial Park Lake.  Officer is enroute to make contact.

9:22 pm – Caller asking questions about animal rescues.

10:52 pm – Michelli Street, suspicious vehicle. Employee called and states there is a parked car on the lot there for a couple of weeks. They want to see if anyone is living out of it. It was unoccupied and employee will leave a note for the manager so he can decide what to do in the morning.
