Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log April 21 through April 27 are reported below.

Monday, April 21, 2025

8:01 am – male at station checking on record request fulfillment.

8:22 am – investigate complaint, at station.

9:40 am – male at station asking if it’s okay to metal detect at the park. Advised him it’s okay but if he digs a hole to fill it back in.

11:01 am – male at station dropping off found cell phone.

12:01 pm – investigate complaint on North Street. Welfare check on person who did not go to school today.

12:27 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street. Warning given for turn signal and citation issued for expired plates.

4:07 pm – investigate complaint at station. The person advised they are being harassed.

8:40 pm – investigate complaint at Walton Avenue. 911 asked for an officer to go to residence due to numerous calls. Sounds like kids playing with the phone.

Tuesday, April 22, 2025

2:13 pm – accident property, Euclid Avenue. Two vehicles were involved but no injuries.

2:53 pm – investigate complaint on South Lincoln Avenue. Employee called stating they have a female that refused to admit due to bringing in contraband. They asked her to leave the property, but she is refusing to leave.

3:10 pm – animal call on Hilles Avenue. Report of dogs running loose in area.

3:25 pm – disabled vehicle on West Leatherwood Pike. Van disabled in roadway.

7:36 pm – caller states female for previous call was still there waiting on a ride.

8:27 pm – spoke to woman and was advised that she doesn’t think her ride is coming and her phone is dead.

8:29 pm – investigate complaint. Woman at station stating another juvenile girl was playing rough with other kids. She stated that her son tried to intervene, but an adult made threats towards her son. Woman only wanted to report it at this time.

Wednesday, April 23, 2025

9:08 am – accident hit skip. The Semi driver called in stating someone hit his mirror on 800 near the small car lot. He does not need an accident report but needs this on file for work. The driver is in Somerton and was given the State Patrol’s phone number.

1:04 pm – caller wanting to know when the Pumpkin Festival is the year. Advised the person of the dates.

1:07 pm – caller states they are having issues with neighbors.

1:38 pm – caller states that he awakened to a text message from his girlfriend’s number saying she had died in a car accident. He spoke to the girlfriend’s ex-husband before calling the police. Caller lives at Freeport Road and was advised to call Guernsey County.

2:21 pm – Hall Boston Road. Someone had a fire going and it caught an embankment on fire. Advised it is spreading down the bank. Advised 911 and toned the fire department.

9:48 pm – Flushing caller wanting the number for the police due to phone harassment. Transferred to Belmont County 911.

11:18 pm – Officer on Shamrock Drive with squad.

Thursday, April 24, 2025

12:32 am – alarm drop on East Main Street. Rear clinic motion, negative keyholder. Building secure.

6:05 am – suspicious person on Fairmont Avenue. Male laying on side of road with his head in storm drain.

10:12 am – investigate complaint on Mackey Drive. 911 received a call from what sounded like a small female child stating a bad guy was there. They can’t get a good ping on the location. Requested officers drive through area. 911 states that they call may be coming from the first or second apartments near the entrance.

10.40 am – South Gardner Street. Reported gas line/leak. Fire department dispatched via 911.

12:12 pm – accident with property damage on East Main Street. Crash in front of Cheffy’s. No injuries reported. EMS responding to scene.

4:03 pm – caller states they got a weird phone call and wanted to report it.

6:51 pm – medical emergency on Park Street. Assisting individual that has fallen.

Friday, April 25, 2025

12:29 am – Shamrock Drive, emergency squad. Advised a male is sitting on a walker who can’t get up is requesting help. Emergency squad requesting assistance.

6:47 am – investigate complaint on Wright Road. Caller states one of his school bus drivers hit the emergency button three times. 6:58 am- called back and advised he is on the bus and just needs assistance. Officer following bus to school.

6:55 am – investigate complaint on East Church Street. A person states across the street from this address a person is possibly there. Officer spoke with neighbors who saw a male and female yelling at each other.

1:31 pm – East Main Street. Attempt to serve abatement warning notice. Negative contact.

2:43 pm – vehicle lockout on West Main Street. Caller called back, found keys.

3:30 pm – abatement on East Main Street. Warning notice, 2nd attempt, warning served.

8:22 pm – alarms on Pine Lane. 911 called advising got alarm drop at Pine Lane. No one was there when answered call back. Negative contact, unknown what is going on here. They are having an argument. All okay. Verbal argument, but nothing physical.

Saturday, April 26, 2025

12:34 pm – investigate complaint on North Street. Caller requesting welfare on mother. Made contact with her. She is fine.

12:40 pm – animal call on South Broadway Street. Caller wants to talk to an officer about issues with dogs in the neighborhood.

1:19 pm – follow up investigation on Hunts Avenue.

2:08 pm – vehicle lock out on South Broadway Street.

2:46 pm – investigate complaint on East Main Street. Assisting someone get their car alarm shut off.

3:08 pm – female caller asked what to do in reference to custody issues. Advised the police do not get involved in custody matters.

4:36 pm – vehicle lock out, North Street.

Sunday, April 27, 2025

10:53 am – caller asking about golf cart operations. Rules reviewed with caller.

11:14 am – threats or harassment on Henderson Street. Caller wants to talk with officers about threats/harassment and violation of a court order.

3:51 pm – investigate complaint on Fair Street. Caller contacted 911 stating they hear someone yelling for help on the other side of the lake (Memorial Park Lake). Caller believes it is coming from the cabin area. Caller is in the turnaround of the lake.

4:57 pm – caller in reference to the pothole on Bond Avenue.

5:35 pm – caller on East Main Street reports there is a guy that mows grass and blocks the alley.

6:48 pm – caller with vehicle lock out at West South Street.
