Workforce and Community Education Classes Offered at Belmont College

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH – Belmont College is offering new workforce and community education classes for the Summer 2025 term at its main campus in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
A drone piloting course will run Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting June 3 through August 5. The course is accredited by the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) and prepares students for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, required for professional drone use in fields such as aerial photography, inspection, and mapping.
Students must have a high school diploma or GED to enroll. USI certifications are nationally recognized for safety and aviation education standards.
Belmont will also offer a Welding Basics course from July 1 to August 15. Classes will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The course covers welding processes, testing, and metal fabrication. Students will receive tools including a helmet, cap, gloves, jacket, and bag. Ohio residents may be eligible for funding through the Talent Ready Grant, with limited financial aid available.
“Welding is evolving quickly,” said Jeremy Morris, Grant Writer and Workforce Development Education Coordinator. “The program prepares students for jobs that now include both traditional skills and modern technology.”
