Patsy E. (Russell) Jordan
Patsy E. Jordan, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio formerly Flushing, Ohio passed away on November 20, 2024 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born on July 16, 1941 to the late William C. and Alice (Tanner) Russell.
Pasty was a graduate of Scio High School. Upon graduation, she worked in the Belmont Sanatorium for tuberculosis patients as a nurse’s aide. Though she knew Sam growing up, they started dating while Sam was home on leave from the Marines. They were married on October 15, 1960 at the Flushing Missionary Alliance Church. During her husband’s 21 years of service, she happily moved wherever he was stationed and held down the fort while he was deployed. They kept in touch through letters. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and her house was always open for them to stop by. Patsy and Sam were devotedly involved in church no matter where they lived. Thoughtful and compassionate, she would often brighten someone’s day with kind words and comforting hugs. She loved encouraging those around her and even those who did not care for hugs would go out of their way for one of hers.
Pasty’s greatest loves were Jesus, her husband, Sam, her children and grandchildren. Even after many years of marriage, Pat and Sam always greeted each other as if they had been parted for too long, and their goodbyes were just as sweet. No matter what life threw their way, they were a team throughout their marriage. Her family loved her beyond words and her grandchildren believed no one could do anything better than Nana. While Patsy has gone to be with Christ, we know she is at peace dancing, singing, and hugging her way through heaven while waiting for her loved ones to join. She will live in the hearts, minds, and thoughts of those touched by her remarkable kindness and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William T. (Bill) (Deanna) Russell; two sisters, Barbara Orum and Nancy (Cliff) Jones.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 64 years, MSGT (USMC Ret) Raymond Samuel (Sam) Jordan Sr.; children, Raymond S. (Dee) Jordan Jr. of Barnesville, Ohio, Rhonda S. (Rod) Roby of Belmont, Ohio, Patricia A. (Greg) Williams of Barnesville, Ohio, Robert S. (Trudy) Jordan of Wellsburg, West Virginia, Sarah G. (Richard Jr.) Jendrusik of St. Clairsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeramy LaFrance) Blessing, Michael (Heidi) Roby, Shannon, Samantha, and Natalie Slivka, Richard Samuel, Emma and Rebekah Jendrusik; great-grand- children, Kaleigh, Eli, and Avery Blessing, Ember and Elias Roby, Dmitri Lantz; one sister, Bonnie (Jim) Brown of Old Washington, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their compassionate care of Patsy.
Per Patsy’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are entrusted to Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
