Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log from May 26 through June 1 are reported below.

Monday, May 26, 2025

5:06 am – investigate complaint at West Main Street. Male was pink slipped got agitated and left the building. Male located at intersection of West Main and West South streets.

10:25 am – red light out on the stop light at intersection of Arch/Main.

11:48 am – caller from Henderson Street states her daughter is being physical with her. Advised to dispatch squad for psych evaluation. Juvenile voluntarily going to hospital with the squad.

2:56 pm – male caller reporting a scam text. Advised to block the number and don’t respond back.

7:05 pm – male and female at station about custody dispute. Officer advised that it was a civil matter.

8:00 pm – person who was at station earlier in regards to a custody dispute called in and states the harassment from the ex-wife has continued.

8:45 pm – loose dogs at North Gardner Street. Dogs returned home.

Tuesday, May 27, 2025

7:45 am – traffic stop on East Main Street.

8:12 am – caller states wanting a VIN inspection done. Caller advised to contact the BMV.

11:43 am – male caller from South Carolina, that plans a local visit asking about concealed carry in Ohio. Information shared.

12:12 pm – person at station wanting to talk with an officer about property line and issues.

12:18 pm – caller asking if we print driver licenses was  advised to go to the BMV.

3:26 pm – caller from Henderson Street states that the ex showed up and is causing problems. Ex stepped into residence and is not allowed to be there. Nothing physical. Offending party left. Caller states that they do not want that person there. Information shared on protection orders.

4:07 pm – Monroe County dispatch called and states that they got a call about a driver all over the road. Person possibly intoxicated. Officer notified. Cameras checked. Vehicle in question was not found.

4:41 pm – caller asking if we can do VIN checks was told department cannot, but it can be done online.

5:19 pm – caller from South Chestnut Street reporting two female juveniles are crying and shaking. They are locked out of the house. Parents are home refusing to open the door.

10:59 pm – coin laundry employee set off the alarm. By the time the dispatcher found the number, her supervisor had gotten ahold of her.

11:41 pm – kids at the park by the Amazing Playground. Officer called for the parents for a ride.

Wednesday, May 28, 2025

11:41 am – caller from Frankin Street wants an officer to stop and to take a look at his cat. Person advised it is sick and would like to shoot it. Caller wanting to speak to an officer in person. Advised that he could not shoot a gun in town and advised him to take the cat to a vet or shelter. The officer advised  the same.

12:17 pm – 911 called advising a BOLO for a vehicle coming into the village from Leatherwood. Possible domestic stop and hold if contact is made. Officer advised.  911 advised deputies are out with the caller.

3:38 pm – officer out with two females on Vine Street. One female was limping and said her grandma pushed her down the stairs. The grandma is currently at the hospital. Officer will gather more information.

5:05 pm – State Patrol requesting an officer to check the area of SR 147/Douglass Road. They had a IPhone crash alert. Officer found nothing in the area. Post advised.

5:23 pm – caller asking about burn ban hours. Advised to contact the fire department.

8:18 pm – caller from Henderson Street advised that there was a vehicle that was pulled up out front into his yard and that the driver was screaming and yelling. The vehicle then sped off down Flower Drive. Caller wanted to speak with an officer and to check the camera footage.

8:33 pm – caller from Morgantown Avenue called in requesting an officer for a racoon that is stuck in a dumpster and afraid it will attack people. Officer advised.

8:35 pm – female from Henderson Street with dementia trying to leave. Officer assisting.

8:50 pm – female at station speaking with an officer in reference to custody issues.

Thursday, May 29, 2025

10:26 am – caller asking about fingerprints. Advised what to do.

2:52 pm – male that was in a private property accident on Sunday at station to file a report.

5:35 pm – two vehicle crash at West Main Street in the alley with injuries. Squad also enroute.

8:25 pm – traffic stop at South Arch Street.

8:58 pm – traffic stop at East South Street.

11:35 pm – traffic stop at North Chestnut Street. Out with a male on a bike.

Friday, May 30, 2025

9:12 am – traffic stop at Railroad Street. A warning was given for speed.

10:19 am – traffic stop at West Main Street.

12:49 pm – traffic stop at Mulberry Street.

1:57 pm – male at station with questions about a civil issue.

7:41 pm – caller from Railroad Street states there is a female on the other side of the guardrail, hanging in the trees and acting crazy. The officer in the area discovers it is the property owner’s daughter.

9:45 pm – traffic stop at Railroad Street and warning given.

Saturday, May 31, 2025

9:55 am – vehicle lockout at Pine Lane.

11:00 am – caller wants an officer to help him retrieve a package.

1:57 pm – traffic stop at Railroad Street.

3:04 pm – traffic stop at East Main Street.

Sunday, June 1, 2025

10:45 am – male caller from Warren Avenue advised sister is at his house yelling at his mother and causing a scene.

2:16 pm – traffic stop at East Main Street.

3:00 pm – vehicle lockout at East Main Street.

4:28 pm – traffic stop at East Main Street.

7:15 pm – caller asking questions about fire pits and how close they can be to his house.
