Barnesville Man Facing Drug Charges

WOODSFIELD— A Barnesville man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Monroe County Criminal Interdiction Unit Wednesday this week.
Deputies arrested 60-year-old John D. Pierce after stopping a vehicle for a registration violation along State Route 800 in Malaga Township on June 25. During the stop, deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle and discovered methamphetamine.
Pierce was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he remains in custody.
The arrest was announced by Monroe County Sheriff Derek Norman. The case remains under investigation.
