Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log from June 23 through June 29 are reported below.

Monday, June 23, 2025

8:15 am – caller asking about an accident report from the weekend.

9:31 am – caller asking that a  copy of a police report be emailed to her.

9:33 am – traffic stop on Railroad Street.

10:04 am – caller requesting a welfare check on a person. Caller states person didn’t show up to work today. They advised that they knocked on the door and there was no answer and tried to call her many times with no contact. Dispatch called the number and spoke with the person. She is okay and overslept.

10:08 am – caller asked about fingerprints and was given information.

10:34 am – caller asked about firearms wondering if there is a registration process to change the owner of the gun he sold. Advised there is no such system.

11:29 am – caller asked about CPR classes. Advised to contact the fire department.

12:26 pm – caller asked about towing a vehicle from a church property in Quaker City. Advised to contact Guernsey’s Sheriff’s department.

12:58 pm- officer out on North 800 regarding debris in the roadway. It is sheet metal and lumber that flew off a truck. The haulers came back and retrieved it.

5:52 pm – caller with questions about fingerprints. Questions were answered.

9:01 pm – caller reported a reckless driver in a Ford Explorer nearly hit him at Memorial Park. Officer notified with negative contact achieved.

9:30 pm – officer out with squad on Plumly Drive.

10:15 pm – traffic stop on Bond Avenue for truck with no rear license plate. Warning was given for no plate.

10:42 pm – traffic stop on Bond Avenue. Warning given for headlight.

Tuesday, June 24, 2025

10:02 am – caller states a reckless driver is in Bethesda on State Route 147. Call transferred to Ohio State Patrol.

10:20 am – 911 called and advised that AEP has Clifton and East South streets closed. It is not known how long the streets will be closed.

11:06 am – golf cart inspection at Franklin Street.

12:03 pm – 911 hangup from South Chestnut Street. When the call was returned someone answered and then hung up. It was a small child playing with the phone. All is fine.

1:34 pm – caller worried about a baby deer in the area. Contact information for wildlife officer provided.

1:51 pm – caller was following vehicle heading 800 North toward I-70 weaving all over the roadway. Vehicle passed another vehicle and ran off the roadway at one point. Caller transferred to Ohio State Patrol.

4:10 pm – person states that two children are inside of an Expedition in the DQ parking lot. The driver is inside the DQ. Officer searched and did not find the vehicle.

7:49 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

9:30 pm – traffic stop on West Main Street.

Wednesday, June 25, 2025

9:34 am – person called in regarding an accident.

10:58 am – central dispatch over the radio advised the Vine Street/Lincoln Avenue area will be closed by a flagging company for a little while.

11:45 am – male at station in reference to a parking ticket wants to speak to an officer. He left a call back number.

1:55 pm – officer out on Cherry Street with a male and female regarding a soliciting complaint.

2:17 pm – warrant service on Plumly Drive.

2:43 pm – pink slip patient ran down West Main Street. Officer has located the female.

4:08 pm – traffic stop on North Street.

5:17 pm – male at station retrieving his dog.

6:16 pm – alarm drop on South Chestnut Street. All secure. Made contact with keyholder. All is well and everything is secure.

9:34 pm – traffic stop on North Chestnut Street.

10:54 pm – traffic stop on Barnesville/Bethesda Road.

11:15 pm – 911 called requesting an officer to respond to Wright Road in Warren Township regarding a dog stuck under a fence with party unable to get the dog out from under the fence.

Thursday, June 26, 2025

12:20 am – suspicious vehicles at Fair Street. Clear.

8:25 am – flagging company will close Vine Street and shortly be moving to South Lincoln Avenue.

11:01 am – male trapped under a vehicle on East Walnut Street. Officer advises the car is off the male and he is fine.

11:55 am – caller advised that she saw on her ring camera that there are contractors on her property.

2:50 pm – officer on Railroad Street with a motorcycle that has lost its exhaust.

6:19 pm – caller advises he lost his cane today. He left it on top of the truck bed and must have fallen off somewhere in town. He asked if anyone had turned it in. No cane in hand.

6:59 pm – cane found from earlier call at Warren Avenue/East Main Street area. The officer returned the cane to owner on South Chestnut Street.

10:27 pm – officer advised of two cars at the park near the Mother’s Club shelter.

Friday, June 27, 2025

8:04 am – caller at Convenient states when he went to leave, he noticed a couple of people looking into car windows. They didn’t try to get into them, just looking inside.

9:40 am – caller from Valley Carwash advises a couple from out of state found a kitten stuck in their engine. Requested help to get the kitten out.

5:17 pm – caller states that he lives at West Church Street and there is a parked vehicle parked on the street unmoved for weeks. It is parked in a lot owned by Barnesville Schools. Advised to contact the school to see if they would tow it.

7:06 pm – dog was found on Railroad Street. Placed in the police garage. Animal shelter called and they are on the way to pick up the dog,

7:10 pm – officer attempting to serve papers on McGee Drive.

7:45 pm – animal shelter at station to pick up dog.

8:25 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

9:42 pm – traffic stop on West Main Street. Warning given for no headlights.

 9:54 pm – person called into 911 and was transferred to Barnesville. Caller states he was followed around town by a guy in a truck. He accidentally cut them off while making a turn and didn’t mean to since he is a new driver. The other driver got out of the truck and threated to beat him up. He is now approaching the station. Officer will speak to caller in person.

10:33 pm – possible domestic incident at the BellStores. Officer spoke to someone at the gas station. Clear.

10:57 pm – male at station regarding a tree and lines down on Clifton Street. He is unknown if line is cable or power lines. The tree is located on private property.

11:57 pm – caller states male walking along Route 800 hugging the white line near the Sunoco gas station south of Hendrysburg. Caller transferred to Ohio State Patrol.

Saturday, June 28, 2025

3:12 pm – traffic stop on South Chestnut Street.

8:00 pm – assist unit on North Chestnut Street regarding a medical issue.

8:59 pm – attempting contact with a person at Pine Lane regarding online reports being submitted to police.

9:20 pm – dump truck near Domino’s facing the wrong direction in the wrong lane. The truck is parked along the road with flashers on. Warning given for parking on wrong side of the street and crossing the double yellow line in the wrong direction.

9:59 pm – Two calls about people setting off fireworks near East Main Street.

10:33 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

Sunday, June 29, 2025

9:45 pm – accident with property damage on East Walnut Street.

10:07 pm – caller from West South Street states people have blocked the alley behind her house. She can’t get out.

11:39 pm – several calls about a stop sign and hydrant.
