Two local residents were featured as part of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Comedy Show with a Twist that took place in Wheeling on February 8.
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Community Impact Grants and Field of Interest Fund Grants. These grants, made possible through the generosity of donors who have entrusted CFOV to address evolving community needs, will provide a total of $ $99,887 to support programs and services throughout the Ohio Valley.
Chad Zambori, director of the Belmont County CARES program, recently shared with Belmont County Commissioners activities for the program in 2024. The county-wide program is associated with the Cumberland Trail Fire District. CARES stands for Community Access Resources Education and Solutions.
With almost 60 live Christmas trees donated to the Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District, on this fifth year of the program, the beneficiaries this year are Barkcamp State Park Lake and small mammals and birds.
Recently at the Ohio Career Technical Education Legislative Seminar in Columbus, OH, Representative Don Jones of the 95th House District, received the award for Public Servant of the Year.
Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack presented Certificates of Commendations to individual deputies for their response, actions and reporting of an incident that required all their skills and resulted in the arrest of suspects.

The monthly Barnesville Chamber of Commerce meeting took place at the New Life Center Wednesday at noon. The sponsor for the luncheon meeting was Northwest Title. Jessica Perkins and Cory Delguzzo shared information about the company with the 39 individuals attending the meeting.
