2024 Tentative Property Values Released for Belmont County Properties
Belmont County Auditor Cindi L Henry posted on the office’s website recently the release of updated 2024 estimated property values for tax purposes.
Barnesville area social media posts this week suggest average property value increases of between one third and one half since the last appraisal.
In Ohio, county auditors are required to do a full, general reappraisal once every six years. This process is called the Sexennial Reappraisal. The auditor or his qualified appraiser is required to view and appraise every property in the county for this purpose. The current Belmont County reappraisal process was started in 2022.
“We are pleased to inform you that the 2024 Tentative Property Values for Belmont County have been released. As a property owner, it is essential to review your updated property assessment to ensure it accurately reflects your property’s current value,” it is noted on the website.
“Reviewing your estimated property value is a straightforward process. Simply click on the PROPERTY SEARCH tab at the top of the page, find your property, and locate the 2024 value under the VALUE HISTORY tab on the left side of the page”.
If you believe there are discrepancies in your property’s assessed value, you can schedule an informal review. If you have multiple properties to discuss, please contact the Auditor’s Office to schedule at or sign up on the office’s website or call (740) 699-2132.
