Ohio School Board Association Recognizes Board Member, BHS Drone Program

At last week’s Barnesville School Board Meeting, the Ohio School Boards Association recognized Dennis Huntsman for achieving the 10-year mark as a veteran board member “for continued dedication and commitment to public education as a school board member”. Presenting a certificate of appreciation to Huntsman was Debbie West, Southeast Regional Manager, for OSBA.

West also recognized the Barnesville Exempted Village School District for the Drone Licensing Program which is taught by Matt Hissom. Hissom and Barnesville students highlighted the popular class at the Student Achievement Fair on November 13, 2023, at the OSBA Capital Conference at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The program was also recognized at the SE Regional Conference at Crooksville High School in March. Left, West, presented a certificate to BHS Principal Ron Clark on behalf instructor Matt Hissom at the school board meeting. Clark shared the news that 25 students are enrolled in the drone program for the new school year.

Also attending the meeting with West was Sally Green, 2024 OSBA President, a member of the Tuscarawas Valley School Board, and resident of Mineral City.
